Dr Saba Gul Khattak Holds a PhD in Political Science and has served in leadership positions in both government

Dr Saba Gul Khattak Holds a PhD in Political Science and has served in leadership positions in both government and non-government organizations; she has served as Member (Social Sector) at the Planning Commission of Pakistan, held the role of Executive Director at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), and led the Open Society Foundations in Pakistan. With extensive knowledge of institutional development, team management, and organizational leadership, she is deeply committed to advancing policy change for social impact. She has extensive experience of working for UN agencies, bilateral donors and INGOs conducting program evaluations, trainings and formulating policy based solutions.

Dr Khattak’s work focuses on the interconnections between governance, development and humanitarian issues, underscoring the need to align economic and social policies. Her interest in tackling the impacts of violent conflict, development and inequalities has driven her efforts to advance human rights, women’s rights, child rights, labor rights, as well as refugee protection in tandem with budget analyses for equitable solutions.

A prolific scholar, Dr. Khattak has published widely, with recent works addressing governance, marginalization and gender equality, and a forthcoming book on labor dynamics. She contributes to national and international policy discussions that shape policy and strategy at the national and regional levels. She sits on the board of several national and regional organizations and committees.
